KNX-NEST Privacy Policy
KNX-NEST is a mobile application for controlling KNX-based smart apartments. The app connects exclusively to the gateway operated for your building. There is no central user account, no advertising, and no collection of personal data for marketing purposes.
Data the app processes
- Device identifier — a cryptographic key pair generated on your device during QR enrollment. It is used solely to authorize your device with the building gateway. It is created by the app and is not derived from any personal identifier of yours.
- Apartment configuration — the names of rooms and controls in your apartment, provided by the building operator so that the app can display them.
- State history — a log of device states (for example temperature readings or a light being switched on) stored by the gateway of your building so that the app can show recent activity.
Diagnostics
The app may report minimal, apartment-scoped error diagnostics (for example a failed connection to the gateway). These reports contain no personal data and are stored within the infrastructure of the building operator.
Biometrics
If you enable Face ID / Touch ID, biometric authentication is performed entirely on your device by the operating system. Biometric data never reaches the app, the gateway, or any server.
Camera
The camera is used only to scan the enrollment QR code provided by your building operator. No photos or video are captured or stored.
Tracking
The app does not track you, does not contain third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and does not share data with third parties.
Data retention and deletion
Your device authorization can be revoked at any time by the building operator or by removing the app. Revoking an enrollment invalidates the device key; state history is retained by the building gateway according to the building operator's policy.
